It’s the 10th of December of the year 2011.
It really is! I know you might be shaking your head,
in disagreement – I know you are not reading this “today” today.
See! I have posts lined up so no space this has in “today”.
Today, right now, I am writing this in the aftermath -
a few hours after I heard the news.
Yes! the news about me getting the versatile blogger award -
nothing less. See me with this wide smile? You should!!!
Well, I sure am happy. I know, this is like a chain letter.
But!!! It REALLY is good – being recognized as being versatile
in my writing – my own words, expressions – of the emotions.
The whole point of blogging is to share – So, this is great.
A great sharing opportunity. To say out loud what you think
about other bloggers. A great way to attract traffic to your blog.
Who gave it to me? well my regular visitors would know
he is “a regular teenager of Pakistan – a Pakistani Boy” -
intelligent, clever, a gonna be dentist, a born poet.
he gave it to me and i feel honored, beyond words.
The same award also is given to me by Judy
One special lovely person I have come across!
Full of compliments and good will. Thank you Judy
[This block added today on Dec 30 - for she honored me yesterday
I might use it to award another 15 bloggers some time later]
The same award also is given to me by Parry.
And it was a totally unexpected gesture sent towards one stranger
I am so humbled to think this is purely out of admiration
[This block of text added today on Jan 23; I might use the award later
to forward to other bloggers; for now I say thank you Parry]
The same award again now today (29 Mar)
by artepiphany [aka Umar]
Nice thought
THANK YOU
I came to this open community only a few weeks ago -
broken, lost, confused, in need of an avenue to rant and rave.
I came. I expanded from mvblogosphere to the WordPress reads -
I needed people who understood the agony of being human.
I have to say i got it, I am getting it.
It takes trivia like these awards to get us away from doom.
It takes peer support to keep a smile on someone’s face.
It takes self-worth to keep on going, and going, and to be free.
Hmmm. I know it’s getting a bit winded and long.
Let me make this short and say thank you fellow bloggers -
for sharing your time.
Thank you A Pakistani Boy [APB] for this nice gesture.
but out of curiosity: APB will be a teenager all his life? WOW
Now without further ado i will complete the obligations:
RULE 1
I have to thank the blogger who gave it to me
[that really is no rule i say - it's part of being human
]
I am of those people who goes overboard thanking.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, A Pakistani Boy.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, Judy, Parry and Artepiphany
I wish you all the best.
RULE 2
I have to share 7 random things about me.
[now i think, and wreck my brain - things/ facts?!!
what have i not said already - through posts and comments?]
let’s see if the following qualifies:
- I am a child of the seas, of the islands – and yet i am a looser when it comes to sea journey. The greatest weakness in me is the inability to hold onto my food for long while on the sea …
- I hate small talk in large gatherings and i hate the podium.
- I day-dream a lot. I have a hard time controlling my wandering mind.
My brain takes the mind into a funny place. And now I have a date lined up with my brain. That idea I got from Coffee&Spellcheck. - Throw me in to the sea (or a pool for that matter) – and I will drown.
I live surrounded by sea yet I cannot swim… sad really. - My digital camera is part of me. I feel incomplete without it.
It’s on me wherever I go.
It makes me smile. - I have a love for architecture, gardening, and the written word
[I group them as one because none of it is my profession] - I have 12 siblings (YES) I am an aunt to an army of countless nephews and nieces.
That’s done. SEVEN random things about me.
RULE 3
Nominate 15 fellow bloggers for this award, briefly stating why.
Oh! also share the news with them, by commenting on their blog.
Now this is the exciting part. the challenging and demanding part.
[note: this is one reason why you are not reading this "today" as in today].
I listed all my favorite fellow bloggers and then got stuck,
who to choose?
Also, me being the perfectionist i am, i cannot leave it just as a list.
{Note to myself: why do I make things harder than it is????}
I’ve created another page for this: “My Award Nominees”
I created a link for each of the nominee
and have reproduced their best post.
The post that hit a chord – the post that scored with me.
The nominees are (finally!!! you would say):
- Kweschn! [aka Elyas] – honestly! one of the best blog i come across. poetry on any and all topics —> all of them intense
- A Pakistani Boy – poetry, narratives, stories, viewpoints, a mature mind
- ArindamUnplugged [aka AriRambles] - a born story-teller. the best
- BabbleAndTattle [aka Ashkitty] – a born chef and she’s got a few other blogs rolling
- demonsking19 [aka Nalaik Panda!] – chocolate covered skin as well as words, great sense of humor
- CoffeeAndSpellcheck [aka Emily] – a cup of coffee always on hand … coffee is great and totally not addictive
- hucein0110 – happened to chance on hucein0110 and i see a lot of creativity there – creative poetry, viewpoints and superb artwork
- vathuthashi [aka personal side of MFB!] – i include vathuthashi esp because it reminds me of vathukiba
a story in itself - Arjun1097 – a great poet on the loose
- Hilath.com – ah the controversial bold guy in town
I am dying to give this award to him – but I cannot access the blog from here – apparantly it is blocked. what to do? - BelleOfTheCarnival – where I found links to great bloggers like Elyas, PakistaniBoy and many more. Belle is one of a kind – her blog is easy to read, kind on the eyes, and provides great brain food
- Simply charming seraphim6 aka Sunshine – brightens the day with a single stop
, with thought provoking reads. - Beeblu – a combination of photos and poetry = two things i like v much
- 3rdculturechildren – exciting colorful stuff from Brazil … full of adventure
- Slicker than your average [aka Yaamyn] – haven’t seen much coming from the blog lately, whatever reason (something to do with controversial stuff i guess) – but I’ve always admired his command of English.
Phew!!!!! My work is done
Now it’s your turn —>
The winners are supposed to:
- Post the badge on their blog [accept and show off the award]
- Thank the blogger who gave them the award [that's me!!!
]
HINT: clicking on the like below is a great way to say “thank you“.
It makes me smile to see gravators at the end of a post
- Give 7 random facts about themselves [something fresh]
- Pass on the award to 15 other bloggers [make someone's day]
CHILL & HAVE FUN !!!
