From one my visits to another island. My unorganised photo archive is to blame that I am not sure whether this is from GDh, Baa, or Addu

Simple is what I can think of
when I see the so very simple “undhoali”.
The swinging bed can be a one-in-all;
a swinging seat, an airy bed, a simple living quarter.

Simplicity and ingenuity is what I can think of
when I see how it is made.
A local made, a rare commodity for this nation’s city.
Such a variety you can find in the other parts.

Simple and clever is what I can think of
when I ponder on its harmony with our nature.
Outdoor, indoor – made to weather the sun and bums :)

Simple and beautiful is what my mind feels
when I see people relaxing to and fro on its seat.
It sure has a harmonising effect on us, proud idiotic fools. :)

Simple and elegant is what I see
in the innovative swing-beds the “undholis” of our ancestors.
Such luxary it holds – inviting a light nap on its lap :)

Suspended in mid-air, held by the four rods or ropes.
I wish for siesta … a simply swinging rest :)

The theme for this week [Simple] is pretty simple, as it brings to my mind
the simplest of local things, the simplest way of life, the simplest form of relaxation – to lie on a undhoali (swing bed) in the evening breeze!!!
