My heart heavy as rocks
for the injustice and tyranny!
My mind numb with disbelief
for the pigheadedness of people around me!
Power, fame, wealth, such toxicants
oppositions we find many
power with its power
do and say whatever comes to vacant brains
Oh god! I wonder how long it will take
for the drama to subside
Oh God! I wonder how long it will take
to another drama to unfold
Such a tragedy losing a life
for whatever the cause!
Such a tragedy the materialistic losses
for what purpose what lessons!
Such poise such grace
comes from experience no doubt
Thank God! For granting me the vision
to see what I saw today and “yesterday”!
An emptiness, a pithiness, I feel
for myself, for the others
for the ruling party, for the opposition
for bringing this dark day upon us.
I just hope lessons have been learnt
of compassion of dialogue
of understanding and of inclusive governance
of tolerance tolerance and tolerance

P.S.
To overcome my gloom and doom
I holed myself in my room
and again hit my DVD collection
to end up watching “Crazy, Stupid, Love”
and I’m glad I did
for it’s such a lovely story
about the belief of a soul mate
the belief in “LOVE”
the interweaved nature of our lives
Totally cool movie
Laughed at points
Shed tears at others
Filled my heart with a nice feeling

Aww sorry to hear that!
But what a powerful poem it made you write!
I wish you could anonymously publish it in your local newspapers!
Such messages need to b read loudly! You have such a kind soul! Your love for your country, for compassion, and for humanity is intoxicating!
… Crazy Stupid Love!
And ya am gonna watch it again just because you mentioned it!
hmm, I guess we write better when it’s done from the heart
I’m really sad for the situation we are in … I just hope things get back to normal
Wow! You surely know how to put your thoughts into words and with such feeling. Well written and beautiful. I also love that movie and can watch it over and over and the same here…when I get upset, I would either create or watch DVD’s that can inspire me. Thanks for sharing your wonderful talent.
Thanks Sonel, for the visit and for the lovely comment
much appreciated …
Amira, I am so sorry. I’m sorry this dreadful thing has happened.
Such a beautiful poem you’ve written about your beloved people, full of sadness, but also full of Hope.
You’ve written it so eloquently, so full of passion for the tolerance you believe in.
I am so moved by reading it.
I’m proud of you. It’s a brilliant poem. Take care, my friend.
I’m sorry about our situation …
And the way things are going now, I think it’s gonna go worse in the coming days..
but I’m hoping people get some into their heads soon enough
thanks judy for the nice words
yeah dho Flora
pathetic
I’ll have to find that DVD cuz it sounds great! Well your day sounds a bit like mine except mine was “mind numb” from sporadic internet service. Bleh. It’s great you found a good movie to watch.
Yeah sunshine. I am glad I had that DVD … it saved me and made me laugh along
Nice thoughts…

ظلم اور ناانصافی ہے
دل پر جیسے چٹّانوں کا بوجھ پڑا ہے
بے حس ہوکر غیر یقینی کیفیت میں
دیکھ رہی ہوں
اپنے گرد میں احمق لوگ
Zulm aor Naa-insafi hay
Dil par jesay chattaano ka bojh paRa hay
Bay-his hokar, ghair-yaqeeni kefiyat main
Daikh rahi hooN

and glad to see “kefiyat” in there
Sorry to hear what is going on there.
And you have expressed your feelings so beautifully and powerfully. Hope things will be back to normal soon.
thanks Bindu.
the situation here is looking really bleak. The day the President resigned, most everyone was in shock … and there was a kind of calm
and the next day (yesterday) was one of the darkest days I’ve seen
still hoping things to work out
this post was very touching Amira!!! i loved how it flowed so well and the emotions were right on babe!
Eva, it’s just a patriotic mind in distress.
The road to reform is a hard struggle … I’m only hoping that my people see things as they are, without clouding their judgement based on the political party they are behind. I pray for understanding from all of us including myself
Amira, truly touching. unfortunately, this just looks like the beginning of more chaos. Lets hope and pray for brighter days and better times! take care
Yeah Cheeky Sylph
Chaos is surely ahead.
but after listening to the Press conference by our new President I have a bit of a hope.
As long as he carries on with the work started by Nasheed, I am sort of Ok with it.
But the way he was ousted just angers me. But deep in my heart I think Nasheed also knew that there is no way to coninue as he was not ready to give in, and the opposition was going to get what they wanted with any means.
I just hope things work out. I hope there is an election soon. I don’t know…
I enjoyed your post too
I watch movies too when I’m feeling gloomy. I’m finally catching up on the 100s of posts in my email box.
happy catching up.
movies have a way of cheering us up. I don’t watch enough
