Never before in Maldivian history
has so many Maldivian women voiced themselves.
Today, they do, we do, because of the unbelievable tyranny.
The steps backwards that’s been taken in the name of politics
in the name of good governance, in the name of religion.
Today, women rally against the coup government.
On the 6th of March,
excessive force used against women demonstrators.
On the 24th of Feb, the largest women gathering
the country has seen
Wow…this is awesome! Go Maldivian women! yay!
But I don’t like the force used against the women.
yeah Judy. It’s awesome and amazing that so many women came out the roads.
the city is going crazy
A bit distressing at time, but the voice that rises above the cruelty is heartening.
And yes, it broke my heart to watch that video of high pressure water pushing and thrasing some of those women.
surely there would be other ways to disperse a crowd.
Just praying for a quick return to peaceful times.
Even now, the resort islands are just like heaven on earth
It’s all so wrong. How can you live in such a beautiful place and have these problems? Naive, I know.
We have a beautiful place. very true.
But the hearts of all are too dark, and too hard … development has come at a cost.
Just hoping the winds of unease and unrest to pass soon enough
leaving our souls beautiful all over again
