These days I seem to be scribbling more than I should.
I am scribbling more than I tap dance on my keyboard.
My note-book is filling faster than I get time,
time to transfer them to my blogiary!
Not having a portable computer
is having its affect on me.
It’s depressing me!
I guess it’s time I went out
and bought myself a laptop!
The only thing that stops me is that
I’m not an impulsive buyer or spender 
I have more than enough saved,
but it does not mean I can spend it on whim.
Also, I need to get it into my head
the reason why I am laptop-less!
It’s only carelessness that it broke;
that I broke one that was gifted to me by a spendthrift!
I had listened to Katie Melua too much, that day,
on a loop, and on loud.
My mind was drugged, dozed, and in a trance.
And somehow I forgot I left it on the wee chair!
I forgot, and the very next minute I tilted the chair
sweeping the floor.
Totally forgot Katie was singing sitting on that one
Anyways, back to buying.
I can justify spending on something expensive
for my birthday – that one special day!.
Sadly, some [many] more weeks left for that!
In the meantime I’m hoping I will be gifted one
That makes me think back on gifts I bought myself,
as birthday presents to pamper myself! 
Last year, I spent on a trip to Dhaka (it was work + vacation)
Year before, I bought my Nokia Music Xpress mobile
and a Sony W190 digital camera (the previous one broke!!!)
Year before that, I spent on a trip to Colombo (vacation + family obligation)
and also on a scooter.
Year before, I bought an HP Pavillion Desktop PC
Year before, a Sony W55 digital camera
(the previous one broke, not me, my son did it!!!)
Year before, was spending on day care too much to pamper myself.
Year before, I bought my first digital camera.
Other than that, I don’t spend much on myself.
So these are justified right?!!!
And this year I was planning on spending my savings
on a trip to Pakistan,
but a laptop is needed more than that visit.
There is a nagging that says,
go and buy a birthday present in advance!
What should I do?
Yeah, go and buy that b’day present
hehe
by the time my birthday comes I would be wanting a present for the special DAY
still thinking …

guess I can always buy a birthday present later even if I buy an advanced gift now

I think there is no comparison between laptop and a visit to native country. A laptop is a need but, a visit to Pakistan is more than need. Obviously it’s up to you that what is need and what is more than need.

it’s an obsession.
I guess I have to put off the laptop. At least I have this PC even if it is not convenient as a laptop.
I guess I just have to get used to transferring my scribbles whenever I get a moment to sit here. last weekend I added about 7 posts and queued it for publishing, one for everyday of the week
that’s why i’m not uptodate with comment followup ..
The memories of a visit will long lasting….
I think this is a nice process starting from an idea to get you sat on chair, to scribble your thoughts and then to put them into queue, eventually to be published.
Oh, that’s ok, then. Coz I was thinking about…

I guess go and get a lappy in advance.. i know how it feels,when we don’t have it..AT this time i am going through this situation, i don’t have one and the pc is not working.. it is awful.. i posted my blog via Samsung galaxy s2.. i am so happy to be gifted this.. but a mobile cannot fill the void of pc or lappy.. and i am looking forward for your bday.. happy bday in advance Amy.. i guess Amy is ur name called by ur dear ones (pet name).. correct me if i am wrong … i wish i could gift you.. Aww.. or else for sure i will pray for you..that somebody should gift you

I use a google phone. it’s handy in checking the blog and general browsing. but writing is not that easy on that
and abt the lappy i guess I will take a few more days to think. don’t want to make the wrong choice. I am dying to visit Pakistan too

Yes, I get irritated if it’s playing up and I can’t get an internet connection (as earlier tonight) or my husband’s busy on ours. Torture not having one. But then comes the sunshine and I don’t even care…

exactly Johanna. It’s torture when you can’t have access to the keyboard when we wish for it
but then again, it works out one way or the other.
not having a laptop saves me some time actually. with a laptop I find it difficult take my hands off its keyboard
I wish we have our own Oprah, I would send her this blog link and she would read and be so nice to buy you a mac.

Joining in your prayer…but i think you should just make it more clear that you need a laptop. Men are quite bad at getting subtle hints
